Darwin's Sandbox Analytics

A private, read-only analytics tool for the Darwin's Sandbox YouTube channel.

Darwin's Sandbox is a YouTube channel by Jeff Burt that answers questions about evolution and ecology with original computer simulations.

Darwin's Sandbox Analytics is the small program Jeff uses to see how those videos are doing. Once a day it signs in to his own YouTube account with read-only permission and downloads the channel's statistics: views, watch time, audience retention, traffic sources, subscriber changes, impressions and click-through rate, and the public comments on his videos. It turns those numbers into a short report that helps him decide what to make next.

What it does not do

• It cannot upload, edit, delete, or comment on anything. The permissions it asks for are read-only.
• It is not a public service. Nobody else can sign in to it or use it, and it reads no channel except Jeff's own.
• It does not sell, share, or advertise with any data.

Details are in the privacy policy and the terms of service.
